Open House Events

The East Whiteland Township Historical Commission hosts a number of open house events at the mill on Saturdays during the year. Check back often for upcoming open house dates.

Directions

October 7, 2023: Several enhancements have been made to the mill to provide accessibility to the public. These include: ADA compliant wheelchair ramp to the entrance, side entrance entry pad and general clean up of the adjacent outbuilding. Clean up efforts were coordinated by Historical Commission member Rueben Garrett with help from the Eagle Scout Group, 106.

The dream of a new wheel for Gunkle’s Mill has become a reality. The project was started by the Historical Commission in 2019. The project is spearheaded by commission chairman, Jeff Dore and the work was done by Ben Hassett of B.E. Hassett Millwrights of Lynchburg, VA.

B.E. Hassett-Millwrights is a full service, traditional Millwrighting company serving as a resource for repair, maintenance, restoration and reconstruction of Wind and Water powered agricultural and early industrial historical sites. Learn more about B.E. Hassett-Millwrights here.
